WWE is all set to move from the USA Network to FOX, a lineup that already includes major sport entertainment shows including the NFL, NASCAR and Major League Baseball.

Many WWE Superstars, including “The Man” Becky Lynch, Roman Reigns and many more would be present during the show, many former WWE superstars are also scheduled to appear and will be in the ring when “Friday Night Smackdown” debuts on FOX.

FOX and WWE have a five-year deal, the deal is of about a billion dollars. This deal also brings the weekly live show to a big four broadcast TV network.

The money spent on the deal and the recent drop in the ratings put pressure on WWE chairman Vince McMahon to put on a great debut show for FOX.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is also all set to appear for the Fox Smackdown debut show, It is not clear whether The Rock would be involved in any in-ring action or would be involved in some other aspect, but it is clear that the WWE is pulling all the punches to make the FOX debut Smackdown show a great hit.

The Rock recently tweeted “FINALLY…I come back home to my @WWE universe, “This FRIDAY NIGHT, I’ll return for our debut of SMACKDOWN! LIVE on @FOXTV. There’s no greater title than #thepeopleschamp.”

The Rock was an integral part of Smackdown back when it debuted, he was one of the most popular superstars and had vowed to “lay the Smackdown” on anyone who came up against him.

Smackdown has been broadcasted on many channels over the years and has even had its name changed many times over the last 20 years. Fox is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to promoting the new Smackdown show, WWE superstars have been appearing all over the network in order to promote the show.

FOX Sports President Eric Shanks said “It has the potential to rejuvenate Friday Nights”

When Smackdown comes to FOX many of the past WWE legends are set to appear on the show. Superstars like Hulk Hogan, Rick Flair, Goldberg, Sting, and The Undertaker.

WWE Superstar Brock Lesner is scheduled to fight on Smackdown in over a decade, Lesner is all set to face WWE champion Kofi Kingston.

Former WWE superstar and WWE Executive Triple H were quoted saying “ I think the opportunity to go to a broadcast platform with partners like FOX that not only want to take what you do and embrace it but help you to make it something more, increases the value, You’ll see changes right away.”

One of the changes that Triple H mentioned includes a weekly studio show called “WWE Backstage” The show would be hosted by Renne Young and Booker T and would feature past and present superstars.

WWE has not been getting great ratings as of recent times, once it was the top show and had ratings par excellence, maybe the move to FOX is the thing that brings back the ratings to WWE Smackdown.
